Not Chhota Rajan but Cyanide Mohan was arrested in Indonesia?

The Indian man, who was arrested in Indonesia on Sunday, was serial killer Mohan Kumar (better known as Cyanide Mohan), not underworld don Chhota Rajan.

Bali: The Indian man, who was arrested in Indonesia on Sunday, was serial killer Mohan Kumar (better known as Cyanide Mohan), not underworld don Chhota Rajan.

Earlier, reports had claimed that fugitive Chhota Rajan, wanted over a series of murders in India, was arrested in Indonesia after decades on the run.

However, other reports suggest the arrested Indian is Mohan Kumar.

Mohan Kumar, the former Indian primary school teacher, is facing the death penalty in his homeland for the murder of 20 young women.

He was arrested on the Indonesian resort island of Bali, police said on Monday.

Mohan Kumar is accused of using cyanide to kill the women from 2003 to 2009. A Mangalore court had sentenced him to death in December 2013.

He was arrested on Sunday after arriving at Bali's airport from Sydney, based on a red notice from Interpol and following a tip from Australian authorities, said Denpasar Police chief detective Reinhard Habonaran Nainggolan.

Nainggolan said police were questioning Kumar and coordinating with Indian diplomats.

He said Kumar told police that he had been hiding in Australia for years to avoid arrest, and had planned a 15-day vacation in Bali.

Kumar faces possible deportation, which could happen in days, or extradition, which could take more than a month, Nainggolan said.
