New Delhi: An organisation representing nurses on Monday warned of striking work in public hospitals from March 15 if their demands for all benefits as per the Seventh Pay Commission recommendations were not met immediately.
Nurses across India will also go on a mass casual leave on February 26 as part of their ongoing struggle in support of their demands.
All India Government Nurses Federation, members of which are already on a relay hunger strike from February 12 till February 27, said though they were trying to negotiate with the government, no appointment had been given to its leaders by the minister concerned.
"We have been trying to get an appointment with union Health Minister J.P. Nadda but are not being given time. Also, the government has never tried to contact us on its own over the issue," said federation secretary general G.K. Khurana.
