Pakistan's ISI printing fake Indian currency notes in Dubai: Sources

Pakistan's intelligence service, Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) has set-up a factory in Dubai which is printing fake Indian currency notes.

New Delhi: In a move which can be seen as a part of Islamabad's 'covert economic warfare' to undermine India's national economy, Pakistan's intelligence service, Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) has set-up a factory in Dubai which is printing fake Indian currency notes.

According to Zee Media sources, ISI has shifted it's so called factory of making fake Indian currency notes to Dubai from where it is pumping into India this money via Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.

“Last month two big consignments of fake Indian notes were seized in Bangladesh. The first consignment was carrying an amount of around Rs two crores while the second one was of one crore,” Zee Media reporter Manish Shukla said.

He further said, “Both the consignments had came from Dubai,” and added that a team of National Investigation Agency (NIA) is probing this case.

While quoting NIA, Shukla also revelead that the printing of these fake currency notes are being done in Dubai and various other parts of Middle-East.

“Earlier, this fake printing machine was being set up in Karachi, which was later shifted to Dubai due to international pressure,” he added.

Notably, in September, a huge amount of Indian currency notes were found in a container at the Chittagong port that had arrived from the United Arab Emirates and was marked as loaded with home appliances.

Customs officials found the currency notes in four boxes of the container and suspect that they might be fake.

The container arrived in a ship from the UAE’s Fujairah port.

Indian revenue intelligence has long alleged that Pakistani agencies were involved in huge production of fake Indian currency notes in the Middle East, which were then shipped back to South Asia for entry into India.

However, during the last years, India has received much cooperation from Bangladesh and Nepal in busting these Pakistan-inspired fake currency rackets.
