Alstom was awarded a contract by LMRC to provide metro trainsets and a signalling solution for the new metro network of Lucknow. Under this, Alstom will supply 20 Metropolis trainsets, each with four metro cars.

Alstom will also provide Urbalis, its Communication-Based Train Control (CBTC) solution, which controls the movement of the trains, enabling them to run at higher frequencies and speeds in total safety.

Lucknow is the third Metro project after Chennai and Kochi for which Alstom is supplying its cars manufactured at Sri City.

UP Chief Secretary Rahul Bhatnagar, LMRC Managing Director Kumar Keshav and others were present on the occasion.

Addressing the gathering, Shah appreciated the works of Alstom and thanked the whole team of the company and LMRC for giving metro train service to Lucknow city.
