New Delhi: In a gesture that can encourage many to lend a helping hand to those in need, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday donated his one month salary to PM's National Relief Fund so that those affected by the earthquake can be provided uninterrupted aid.

PM Modi, in a series of tweets today, thanked the Army, Centre, state govts, media and people for showing exemplary spirit at this hour of need.


“We owe a big thanks to the enthusiastic youngsters who are mobilising contributions for relief work be it cash, resources and medicines etc. We must thank our armed forces, NDRF teams, doctors & all those volunteers who are overcoming every obstacle to restore normalcy in Nepal,” wrote PM.
