New Delhi: It's really a 'achhi news' for the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the NDA government at the Centre led by him, who promised 'Achhe din' to people of India in 2014 Lok Sabha elections.

PM Narendra Modi is still the topper among the Indian middle class, especially among the urban salaried and those living in India's seven biggest cities, according to a survey.

Overall ratings: Economic performance

The Narendra Modi-led NDA government's overall approval ratings are still high i.e. 86% on economic performance, according to a ET-TNS survey.

Job creation

According to the findings of the survey, 62% said that the Modi government has delivered on job creation.

Future: 'Achhe din aaney wala hain'

The survey says that 58% expect the future to be better. 

JNU row: 'Congress is responsible'

Nearly half of the survey respondents (46%) believe that the controversy is the Congress' fault. Moreover, more than half of them (52%) are of the view that the Modi government took the right action in the matter.

PM Modi still most popular leader

According to the findigs of the survey, PM Narendra Modi way more popular than Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi. 

On a scale of one to 10, PM Modi got 7.68 against 3.61 secured by Rahul Gandhi. At least 41% of those surveyed gave the PM a rating of 9 or 10. 

Arun Jaitley got 5.86. 

Respondents

Surveyors were fanned out across Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Hyderabad and Ahmedabad.

Sample size of the survey

The survey was done with a sample size of more than 2,000 people between the ages of 24 and 50 with an annual family income between Rs 3 lakh and Rs 20 lakh. Also, about a fifth of those surveyed were women.
