New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend a commemorative event to mark the 300th martyrdom anniversary of Sikh military commander Baba Banda Singh Bahadur in Delhi on Sunday.

Prime Minister Modi will also address the gathering.
Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley had earlier on June 21 released a commemorative silver coin to mark the 300th martyrdom day of Baba Banda Singh Bahadur.
Banda Singh Bahadur established his rule to protect the honour and traditions of his people by defeating the Mughals in 1710.
Later in 1716, at the age of 46 he was captured and executed by the Mughals in Delhi.
