Lucknow: The 'Jai Sri Ram' chants by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the first time on a public platform after a log gap has taken everyone by surprise, triggering intense reactions from all quarters.
PM Modi, who has avoided making a direct reference to the issue of Ram temple at Ayodhya during past five years, chanted "Jai Shri Ram" loud and clear as he addressed a huge gathering at the Aishbagh Ramlila Ground here yesterday, possibly indicating a shift in BJP's strategy vis-a-vis the upcoming elections in Uttar Pradesh.
Though the Prime Minister chose not to talk about the Uri attack, surgical strikes or UP politics, he indirectly gave a stern message to Pakistan for its continuous support to terrorism.
However, PM Modi's chants were what set the agenda on micro-blogging site Twitter making #JaiJaiShriRam trend on Tuesday.
It did not come as a surprise that many on social media hailed the Prime Minister for being “proud”of chanting Lord Ram’s name. The euphoria was also mixed with a rant against the usual suspects - the liberals, sickulars and non-bhakts.
Here are some of those reactions:-
