New Delhi: Taking a serious view on imposition of President's rule in Arunachal Pradesh, the Supreme Court on Wednesday issued a notice to Centre over the Constitutional crisis.
The Centre has to file a reply by January 29. The next hearing will take place on February 1.
Also, the apex court rapped the Centre and asked why hurry for President's rule in Arunachal Pradesh.
Earlier, in the day, hearing the case, the Supreme Court had sought the Arunachal Pradesh Governor's report (within 15 minutes) on the basis of which President's rule was in the state.
Moreover, the apex court has sought Attorney General's assistance on President's rule imposition on Arunachal Pradesh.
The Supreme Court was hearing the Congress' plea challenging the Cabinet's decision on Wednesday.
Pranab Mukherjee had okayed the President's rule for Arunachal Pradesh on Tuesday.
