New Delhi: Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi had to face embarrassment on Wednesday, when he came across a group of protesters shouting slogans 'Rahul go back' and urged the grand old party to let the Parliament function.
The protesters had gathered at the Jantar Mantar to protest against the Gandhi scion, who had gone there to lend support to tea garden workers of West Bengal who are "languishing" in poverty.
In an apparent reference to the Gandhi family's alleged role in National Herald case, one of the protesters said country's development cannot be stopped to save a single family.
The area was abuzz with slogans 'Rahul go back, let Parliament function'.
The Winter Session of Parliament, which ends on December 23, is headed for yet another washout with the Congress-led Opposition finding a new reason in the National Herald case to stall the proceedings.
Last month, Rahul faced some embarrassing moments when a large section of his student audience at a women's college responded in resonating 'yes' to his poser whether they thought Prime Minister Narendra Modi's ambitious 'Swachh Bharat' and 'Make In India' campaigns were actually working.
