Lucknow: Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi has often been the butt of jokes on social networking sites.

The Gandhi scion, who is holding Kisan Mahayatra in the politically sensitive Uttar Pradesh, has once again become the target of social media users with his 'potato factory' remark.

While speaking to the farmers, the Amethi MP said: “You all are demanding a potato factory in your area, but you should understand I am an opposition leader, I can put pressure on the government, but cannot take the decision. I cannot open a potato factory for farmers.”

Rahul's comment has taken the social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter and Whatsapp by storm.

This is not first time, the Congress leader has made such a hilarious statement.

Last year the Congress vice president faced some embarrassing moments when a large section of his student audience at the Mount Carmel college in Bengaluru responded in resonating “yes” to his poser whether they thought Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ambitious Swachh Bharat and Make In India campaigns were working.

He once addressed Chairman of the Lok Sabha P Venugopal as Madam.

While speaking on the “White Revolution' in Gujarat, the Gandhi scion had said: “Gujarat ko agar kisine khada kiya hai, Gujarat ko Amul kisne diya hai, Gujarat ko kisne dudh diya hai toh iss taraf dekhiyein in mahilaon ne diya hai Gujarat ki mahilaon ne diya hai!”
