New Delhi: A day after Manohar Parrikar made a veiled attack on actor Aamir Khan, Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi on Sunday slammed the RSS and the Union Defence Minister and said that they want to teach people a lesson.
Responding to Parrikar's comments against the actor, Gandhi said: “Here's a lesson for you (Parrikar). Hate is the preserve of coward and it will never win."
Parrikar on Saturday raked in an old controversy over Aamir Khan.
He said, “People like Aamir Khan and an online company for which he was the brand ambassador have been taught an adequate lesson and everybody else who speak out against the country should be taught a similar lesson.”
"One actor had said that his wife wants to live out of India. It was an arrogant statement. If I am poor and my house is small, I will still love my house and always dream to make a bungalow out of it," he said without naming Khan.
In November last year, the "PK" actor had joined the chorus against growing atmosphere of "intolerance", saying he was "alarmed" by the number of incidents with his wife Kiran Rao even suggesting that they leave the country.
