Delhi: May 19 was a good day for the BJP. After the debacle in Delhi and Bihar, they created history in Assam and won emphatically in the Northeast state.
On the other hand, the Congress after a series of defeats in 2014 and 2015, it lost Assam and Kerala on Thursday.
Now there is a BJP chief minister in 9 states - Assam, Chhattisgarh, Goa, Gujarat, Haryana, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Rajasthan.

- Percentage of population under BJP rules states - 35.57%.
- Percentage of population under Congress rules states - 7.01%.
- Percentage of area under BJP rule - 45.46%.
- Percentage of area under Congress rule - 11.15%.
