New Delhi: While the debate continues over whether the migration of Hindu families from Kairana in Uttar Pradesh's Shamli district is an 'exodus' or not, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has taken up the issue and is talking about 'human rights violations' in the affected area.

In an article published in its mouthpiece 'Organiser', the RSS claims there have been human rights violations against Hindus and that several villages in the state are undergoing a “demographic change”.

The journal goes on to build an “ISI connection” saying the “demographic offensive” was being unleashed by a particular community.

All this despite the fact that BJP MP Hukum Singh, who had first claimed a 'Hindu exodus' from the Kairana Assembly constituency and published a list of 346 families who had migrated, has done a U-turn and said that it was a law and order problem and not a 'communal issue'.

A BJP fact-finding team has already visited Kairana and submitted its report to party president Amit Shah.

In its mouthpiece, the RSS presented “a report with some untold stories” on Kairana and said, “For the last few years this identity of Shamli as a prosperous district is under scrutiny due to demographic offensive opted by anti-social elements. More than 350 Hindu families of Kairana have been forced to leave their ancestral houses and thriving business establishments.”

The Sangh journal went on to say that “ground realities of Kairana tell many stories of human rights violations of religious minority in some pockets of this region.”

“The phenomenon of demographic offensive is not limited to Kairana. Many towns of Shamli and Muzaffarnagar districts are facing the same menace. The adjoining localities of Kairana, Jharkhedi, Titarwada, Unchakhedi, Ramda, Malakpur etc, are facing the same fate demographic imbalance and invasion,” the article addded.

“The episodes of persecution and criminalisation are suspected to have link with the ISI,” it further claimed.
