Mumbai: BJP's closest ally Shiv Sena has once again slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi and criticised the Centre's decision to promote government's good work and achievements in cinema halls.
In a fiery editorial in its mouthpiece Saamana, the Shiv Sena came down heavily on the Centre for making it mandatory to show documentary on Modi's government's achievements before the screening of movies in all cinema halls.
The party said the documentaries being shown at the cinema halls should also highlight various other national welfare schemes and focus on other national leaders besides PM Modi.
The Maharashtra's ruling party also slammed BJP leader M Venkaiah Naidu whose Urban Development Ministry has mandated the decision to show documentaries highlighting Narendra Modi's government's work.
Continuing its attack, the Shiv Sena, in its editorial, said ''PM Narendra Modi is being praised as the incarnation of God by BJP leaders who are making such remarks at regular intervals.' The editorial also compared PM Modi to Tamil Nadu's iconic leader J Jayalalithaa who enjoys a crazy fan following in her state.
Sena, which is BJP's alliance partner in Maharashtra, said when PM Modi is being labelled as God, it is quite obvious why Ram temple issue has taken a back seat.
