"Rahul Gandhi being elevated as Congress president means 'achhe din' for us (BJP)," Smriti Irani said in an interview to TOI.

Notably, speculations on Wednesday raged about Rahul Gandhi taking over as Congress President soon but the party dismissed any such immediate possibility.

Even, Sonia Gandhi, who is on a visit to her constituency Rae Bareli, remained tightlipped on the issue.

Sonia was asked to comment on media reports about Congressmen wanting Rahul to take over as President but she just got into her car without replying to the media.

Earlier, on Tuesday, Congress President Sonia Gandhi had attacked the government over the celebrations of two years of NDA government and described Prime Minister Narendra Modi as "Shahenshah" (emperor).
