This theatre owner of Kairana has threatened to migrate - Know the reason
A group of persons, including a relative of a gram pradhan, allegedly looted cash from a theatre owner at gun-point.
Muzaffarnagar: A group of persons, including a relative of a gram pradhan, allegedly looted cash from a theatre owner at gun-point after entering the office of the cinema hall in nearby Shamli's Kairana town, police said on Sunday.
Police registered a case against four persons, including Kamran, the brother-in-law of a gram pradhan of Bhura village, and arrested him in this connection while the rest are absconding, according to SHO A P Bhardwaj.
According to the complaint lodged with Kairana police station, four persons including Kamran yesterday entered the cinema theatre office of Rama Palace and looted Rs 5,000 cash from the owner, Pradeep Mittal, at pistol-point besides beating him up.
Mittal said if the law and order situation did not improve, he would be forced to migrate.
The incident comes amid a controversy over BJP MP Hukum Singh's claim that Hindus were forced to 'migrate' from Kairana, which was affected in the 2013 riots in Muzaffarnagar surrounding areas, due to law and order issues.
