Were temples, college on Gurdaspur terrorists` radar?

New Delhi: Were temples and colleges on the radar of terrorists who struck Gurdaspur in Punjab on Monday last week?

As per The Times of India, sleuths have found during investigation that the terrorists killed in Gurdaspur likely planned to target two temples and a college. The installations' coordinates were found fed in the GPS devices recovered from the terrorists.

The revelation has also forced intelligence sleuths to investigate whether these were the primary targets.

As per the newspaper report, the temples whose GPS coordinates were recovered from terrorists include Sajoti Mata ji temple and Chhotu Nath Mandir. The college likely on terrorists' radar was SSM College in Dinanagar.

Investigators believe if the temples and the college were terrorists' main targets, their motive could have been to take people hostages.

Targeting the police station could have been a desperate move of the terrorists after they were spotted.

In all, the GPS devices contained coordinates of 13 places across Punjab. The terrorists are believed to have visited a majority of these places.
