Kolkata: TMC leader Saugata Roy on Sunday said the alliance between Congress and CPI-M will have no effect on Trinamool Congress in the upcoming assembly elections in West Bengal.
"The alliance between Congress and CPI-M will not impact the prospect of TMC. TMC has won last few elections with handsome margins, fighting all alone against the opposition parties," he said.
Roy doubted whether in case of an alliance, CPI-M and Congress would be successful in transferring their votes to each other.
"Our vote bank is firm and intact but I doubt whether Congress and CPI(M) would be able to transfer their votes. I am sure the traditional Congress votes will not go to CPI-M," he said.
