New Delhi: In worrying signs, an Indian student studying engineering in the United States has been spotted in a video released by the Islamic State (ISIS) terror group.

The Deccan Chronicle reported on Saturday that the student hails from Andhra Pradesh and was studying in Texas.

The ISIS video in which he was seen threatens terror attacks against India.

According to the report, the incident highlights the ISIS has been able to successfully recruit and radicalise Indians in the United States.

The student, who hails from Andhra Pradesh and was pursuing engineering in Texas, figures in the latest video released by the terror outfit threatening to carry out attacks against India.

The video, 22 minutes long, was released by the ISIS on May 19. It is currently being investigated by the intelligence agencies as well as the National Investigation Agency (NIA).

Most of the Indians who featured in the video have been identified — Mohd Sajid alias Bada Sajid, Farooq Al Hindi alias Abu Rashid (both from Azamgarh, UP), Abu Salha al Hindi, Fahad Sheikh alias Abu Ammar al Hindi (from Kalyan, Maharashra), and Aman Tandel alias Abu Salman al Hindi and Shaheem Tanki (from Thane), the newspaper reported.

On Friday, MoS Home Affairs Kiren Rijiu said that the government was taking the ISIS propaganda video “very seriously” and will deal with it in a proper manner.
