New Delhi: Over 55 outstation students have left the NIT Srinagar campus for their home towns following the unrest.
The institute's Board of Governors, meawhile, will be meeting on Monday to discuss various issues.
"Over 55 students have left the NIT Srinagar campus. As more students have expressed the desire to leave, the actual number of students leaving could be more. It has been decided that they will be allowed to take exams later," officials of HRD Ministry said.
They said the Board of Governors of NIT Srinagar will also meet tomorrow (Monday) where issues raised by students of the institute will be discussed.
The ministry is also sending a Joint Secretary level official for the meeting, officials added.
Trouble had broken out on the campus when groups of local and outstation students clashed following India's defeat at the hands of West Indies in the semi-final match of T20 Cricket World Cup.
