Srinagar: Security personnel on Monday apprehended a 40-year-old Pakistani intruder along the Line of Control in Poonch Sector of Jammu and Kashmir.
"The intruder was seen moving suspiciously on the Indian side of LoC when he was engaged by the troops and apprehended," a statement issued by the Ministry of Defence.
The arrested Pakistani national has suffered minor injuries and has been administered first-aid and is in the process of being handed over to the local police authorities.
He will be interrogated by intelligence agencies following which further details are likely to emerge.
Last month, on November 22nd, the Border Security Force (BSF) personnel foiled an infiltration bid along the International Border and shot down a suspicious Pakistani national in RS Pura Sector of Jammu district, after he crossed the border.
"Around 0418 hours, alert troops foiled an Infiltration bid in R S Pura Sector and also gunned down a Pakistani intruder, who seems to be guiding militants waiting across the border," according to Manoj Yadav Jammu-based BSF spokesperson.
The intruder had reportedly taken advantage of dead ground, thick growth and dense fog etc to move towards the Indian fence.
Before being shot dead by the army personnel, the Pakistani national was repeatedly challenged by the troops to which he refused to pay any heed.
