Sambhal: Against the backdrop of Paris attacks, former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah on Wednesday alleged that the US and other western countries had "given birth" to terrorism whose "creations are attacking them" and questioned the "hue and cry" over such incidents.
"Western countries and the US are responsible for terrorism as they have given birth to it. They are now making a hue and cry after facing attacks," he told reporters here.
"Muslims are not terrorists. The US and Britain have given birth to terrorism and are now facing it," he said, adding "Their creations are attacking them, so why are they raising a hue and cry?"
The comments by Abdullah, who was here to attend 'Kalki Mahotsava', came in the context of deadly attacks in Paris where gunmen killed 129 people at multiple places four days back.
On the Kashmir issue with Pakistan, the National Conference leader said, "It could be resolved by talks and not through fight. We have earlier fought four battles but the dispute is not resolved."
Talking about separatist Hurriyat leaders in Kashmir, Abdullah said, "They too are funded."
He also suggested that there should be no cow slaughter. "If a community objects to it, it should not be done," he said, days after beef controversy hit parts of the country.
On the cleaning drive of the Ganga river, the former Union New and Renewable Energy Minister said, "It will be cleaned when we die. How much money is being put in for the job and when will it be cleaned? It gives us life."
Abdullah also recited 'Raghupati Raghava Raja Ram' from the stage and regaled the audience gathered at the 'Kalki Mahotsava'.
