No police personnel to be deputed for officers' housework: Jharkhand govt

The Jharkhand government on Thursday directed that no police personnel should be deputed at any police officer's place for housework.

Ranchi: The Jharkhand government on Thursday directed that no police personnel should be deputed at any police officer's place for housework.

Issuing directions to this effect at a review meeting of the police department, Chief Secretary Rajiv Gauba said misuse of the department would not be allowed at any cost.

He cited an example as to how 428 constables were withdrawn from duties as bodyguards and house guards from different individuals and places in the last six months, an official release quoting him said here.

Asking for a tri-monthly review of deputation of security guards to individuals or premises to maintain law and order, he said security should be provided on the basis of threat.

He asked to dispose off within one week all pending issues related to bodyguards provided to any person irregularly.

Gauba also asked to prepare online citizen portal (e-samadhan) to enable its launching on March 31, 2016, to provide services like verification of character and passport.

He asked to link e-samadhan with the Centre's Crime and Criminal Tracking Network Systems (CCTNS) and all FIRs would be registered through CCTNS from March 31 next year.
