Bengaluru: Narcotics Control Bureau of Karnataka on Thursday arrested a top female model on charges of drug peddling in the city. 

According to reports, the model, identified as Darshitmita Gowda, 26, had won the Miss Queen Karnataka contest in 2014 and is a known face at all important Page3 parties and fashion events in Bengaluru. 

Clients included high-profile customer, college students

The NCB sleuths, who arrested her under various sections of the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, said, Gowda's clients included many high-profile people and mainly college students. The drug-racket gang was said to be active in Bengaluru, parts of Goa besides Mangluru.

The NCB arrested four others people in connection with the case before finally nabbing Gowda. The drug-smuggling matter had first come to light in November last year.

Model's boyfriend spill the beans

A raid was conducted in an apartment in the upscale RT Nagar locality in November last year where Gowda lived with her boyfriend Nishant. During the raid, huge cache of banned drugs including 110 grams of cocaine , 19 grams of hashish , 1.2 grams of MDMA and LSD were seized.

During the interrogation, Gowda's boyfriend Nishant revealed that Drshmita plays a key role in the drug racket. On Nishant's statement, the police sent a summon the model.

Gowda appeared before the police on June 21 following which she was arrested.
