Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala's Director General of Police TP Senkumar, who has been replaced with Lokhnath Behera within days of the Left Democratic Front (LDF) government taking over here, has fired a parting shot.

Posting on Facebook a day before he handed over the job, Senkumar said he is not spineless.

"I have my vertebras still in place. I have never appeased anyone for a posting. I have tried to be impartial and fair," Senkumar wrote on a Facebook page created by him.

Senkumar was one of many officials and bureaucrats who have been transferred after the LDF government took over from Congress-led UDF.

Senkumar has been transferred after just one year in office, in violation of the Supreme Court's directive that the DGP of any state should remain on post for at least two years to ensure continuity in the leadership and investigations of the police force.

Reacting to the outrage caused by the officer's transfer, Industries Minister EP Jayarajan only had this to say, as per NDTV, “There is nothing wrong in it. Only the right decisions have been taken.”
