he High Court also stayed a similar directive by the vigilance court against Power Minister Aryadan Muhammed.
Kochi: In a big relief for Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, the Kerala High Court, Friday, put a stay on a vigilance court's directive that a FIR be lodged against him in the Solar Scam case.
Chandy was under intense pressure from the opposition to resign as CM since yesterday when the vigilance court passed it order.
The High Court also stayed a similar directive by the vigilance court against Power Minister Aryadan Muhammed.
As per media reports, HC judge Justice P Ubaid came down heavily on vigilance court judge SS Vasan. The HC opined that the vigilance court acted irresponsibly.
Importantly, the stay order from HC came on a petition by Chandy and Muhammed seeking quashing of the vigilance court order.
The Thrissur vigilance court had ordered FIR against the two after solar scam accused Saritha Nair alleged that Chandy was paid Rs 1.90 crore and Muhammed Rs 40 lakh as bribe in exchange for government favours.
Meanwhile, the opposition is continuing with massive protests against the CM demanding his resignation.
