The entire incident was recorded in a CCTV camera.

According to witnesses, three people, who were apparently in an inebriated state, suddenly attacked the victim with a knife in front of a jewellery store in Andheri's Gilbert Hill road.

The victim was taken to a hospital where he was declared brought dead.

During the attack, the victim's younger brother who tried to intervene was also injured.

The victim has been identified as Ramu Dhotre, who is a transporter.

A few onlookers showed exemplary courage and nabbed two of the attackers, while the third attacker managed to escape.

The police are now searching for the third accused with the help of the CCTV footage.

The incident took place on Wednesday evening in front of the Ambaji Jewellers.

The locals said that the area is filled with various addicts who loiter around in dark alleyways. They said that they had complained to police regarding the addicts but no action was taken.

The victim's brother told Zee News: “I was standing on the side of the road and all of a sudden they attacked us.” “The attackers were in an inebriated state,” he said.
