Mumbai: The Central Railway has recently commissioned 11 foot over bridges (FOBs) in its Mumbai Division, a senior official has said.
The FOBs have been commissioned at Vitthalwadi, Shahad, Karjat, Kanjurmarg, Reay Road, King's Circle, Chembur, Chembur-Govandi section, Vidyavihar, Kasaiwada(Kurla) and Mumbra, CR's chief PRO Narendra Patil said.
Besides, 10 FOBs have been sanctioned or are under progress by Mumbai Division at Nahur, Thane, Vangani, Bhandup, Sewree, Mumbra, Diwa, Asangaon, Neral and Currey Road, he said.
Ten FOBs are being constructed by Mumbai Rail Vikas Corporation (MRVC) and the work is in progress at Dadar, Kurla, Thane, Thakurli, Kalyan, Diwa, Wadala Road, Chembur and Mankhurd, Patil told reporters yesterday.
Besides, seven FOBs have been sanctioned by CR, including at Dadar, Matunga, Sion, Parel and Masjid Bunder, he said.
Patil also said that the public foot over bridges are under construction and planned on deposit basis by Mumbai, Thane and Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporations.
Giving the details of FOBs planned by Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation, Patil said, The Mumbai civic body has planned to construct six foot over bridges at Currey Road, two FOBs between the section of Govandi-Mankhurd, Mankhurd-Vashi, Sion-Kurla, and Kurla.
The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation has planned two foot over bridges, one each at Sanpada and Turbhe, and Thane Municipal Corporation has planned to construct one foot over bridge at Kalva.
