Emirates plane with more than 300 on board makes emergency landing in Mumbai

Mumbai: It was a frightening time for about 300 passengers.

A plane headed from Dubai to Maldives was forced to land in Mumbai this afternoon.

The emergency landing had to take place after smoke was seen in the cockpit and cabin.

The pilot sent an SOS to Air Traffic Controllers and then the Coast Guard rushed out ships as a stand-by.

This was done in case the plane was not able to cross the sea.

However, all passengers and crew are said to be safe and were evacuated with full emergency procedure.
