New Delhi: Nagaland Chief Minister TR Zeliang and members of the Parliamentary Working Committee (PWC) on Wednesday met NSCN-IM general secretary T. Muivah to discuss the status of the ongoing peace negotiations between the group and the Indian government.
The 19-member PWC also discussed the possible contribution it could make in the ongoing negotiations.
Muivah, who is leading the National Socialist Council of Nagaland (Isak-Muivah) in the peace talks with the Indian government, was accompanied by some leaders of the group.
Among the several political leaders whom the PWC delegation met during their ongoing visit to Delhi, were Shiv Sena parliamentarian Anandrao Adsul, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief Amit Shah and Janata Dal-United chief Sharad Yadav.
The Naga peace accord framework was inked on August 3 last year between the NSCN-IM and the government, almost 20 years after continuous negotiations aiming to bring peace to Nagaland.
