New Delhi: In a bid to ignite the fuel of discontent simmering in National Democratic Alliance (NDA), Congress leader Abhishek Manu Singhvi on Wednesday called the Narendra Modi`s Cabinet as “imbalanced and unrepresentative”.
Notably, the ruling NDA`s second largest constituent, the Shiv Sena, is upset over the poor representation it got in the new Narendra Modi government, as well as the portfolio for the party representative. Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje on Monday pepped up her 25 MPs, upset over being awarded with only one berth instead of the expected four in Modi`s first Cabinet. The Sena secured only one berth with Anant Geete -- its six-time MP from Raigad in Konkan -- inducted as Cabinet minister. He was given the heavy industries portfolio, which was another point of disappointment for the party, said party sources. Exploiting the sentiment, Singhvi, without naming Shiv Sena, took to microblogging website Twitter to hit out at Modi`s Cabinet, asking how is it inclusive.
He also asked if talent deficit led to allotment of the Finance Ministry and the Defence Ministry to just one person. Jaitley has been given the responsibility of both the ministries. However, Jaitley made it clear on Tuesday that he holds defence portfolio only as an additional charge and it would go to a new person once there is a Cabinet expansion. Here are Singhvi`s tweets:
