New Delhi: The leading online retailer Amazon has once again found itself at the receiving end of social media fury, after it was found that they were selling doormats depicting Hindu Gods and Goddesses on their website.
There was an instant outcry on Twitter with people urging other users to boycott the mobile app, as well as the e-commerce website.
The backlash levels against Amazon on the micro-blogging site were so high, that soon enough, #BoycottAmazon was seen trending in India.
Products with images of Hindu gods, Jesus Christ and verses from the Quran were being sold by a retailer called Rock Bull, but most of the tweets seem to have been directed at Amazon.
As per Mashable.com, after the backlash, Amazon reportedly removed most of the products from its site.
Last month, the online shopping giant came under fire for selling wildlife specimens and hunting equipment on its website.
