New Delhi: 2015 was a year filled with memorable and unforgettable events! To capture the most noteworthy ones, popular social networking site Twitter has released their top 10 most popular tweets of 2015. Based on the highest number of retweets from January 1st until November 10th, only one tweet per user was eligible. And quite obviously, Fans of One Direction dominated Twitter this year! 

Here are the top 10 tweets from 2015, according to Twitter:

10: Caitlyn Jenner: 

Her first tweet to the world got over 250,000 retweets following transition from Bruce to Caitlyn in June.

9. Leonard Nemoy

Star Trek legend Leonard Nimoy wrote this last tweet before he died on On Feb. 23. It has almost 280,000 retweets.

8. Kanye West:

This piece of inspiration from Kanye got over 300,000 retweets.

7.  Niall Horan ​

Niall sent this tweet out in celebration of bandmate Liam’s birthday on Aug. 29. It has over 320,000 retweets.

6. King Salman of Saudi Arabia:

King Salman sent out this tweet of prayer and support for his people after he was crowned king of Saudia Arabia. It has over 360,000 retweets.

5. Louis Tomlinson

Expressing appreciation for his fans, Louis of One Direction tweeted this on May 7th. It has over 410,000 retweets.

4. President Barack Obama:

In a historic moment for USA, President Barack Obama tweeted his support for the U.S. Supreme Court ruling that legalized same-sex marriage in June.

3. Liam Payne:

Liam Payne marked the fifth anniversary of One Direction's formation with this tweet.

2. Zayn Malik

In support of One Direction's new song ''Drag Me Down'', Zayn tweeted this which got over 560,000 retweets.
