Bhubaneswar: Vigilance sleuths arrested the General Manager of district industries centre of Balasore in Odisha on charge of accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 to issue a certificate for getting coal at subsidised rate.
Accused Sanatan Nayak, the General Manager of DIC, Balasore had demanded an illegal gratification of Rs 10,000 from the complainant for issuing him a certificate to get coal at subsidised rate from National Small Scale Industries Corporation, official sources said Sunday.
In course of investigation, a trap was laid by the Vigilance Officers of Balasore Division and Nayak was caught red handed in his office after accepting the bribe money from the complainant yesterday, they said. Bribe amount of Rs 10,000 was recovered from the possession of the top DIC official and seized in presence of witnesses.
Nayak was arrested. PTI
