But Viru, who led the queue of Indian cricketers wishing the leg-spin legend on Tuesday, didn't stop there. He went on to make the best use of Kumble's nickname 'Jumbo', which would have surely brought a smile on the face of Karnataka man.

"On Dhanteras, wishing one of India's greatest Dhan @anilkumble1074 bhai a very happy birthday. Jai jai Shiv Shambho, Happy Birthday Jumbo !" Sehwag tweeted.

Kumble, who of late was the coach of Indian team before being replaced by Ravi Shastri, played 132 Tests and 271 ODIs before he quit the game in 2008, ending a glittering career spanning 18 years.

Among his 619 Test wickets, the most famous 10 came in one single innings in a 1999 Test match against Pakistan at Delhi's Feroz Shah Kotla ground.

Kumble also took 337 wickets in ODIs.
