Chandigarh: Cold weather conditions prevailed at many places in Punjab and Haryana today, with Amritsar recording the lowest temperature at 4 degrees Celsius.

Amritsar's minimum temperature settled one notch below normal for this time of the season, the MeT Department said here.


However, the night temperature at Ludhiana and Patiala rose slightly since yesterday to settle at 11.2 degrees Celsius and 9.5 degress Celsius respectively.
Chandigarh recorded a low of 7.8 degrees Celsius.


According to MeT forecast, rain or thundershowers are likely at isolated places in the two states until tomorrow.


Nights were cold at Karnal, Narnaul and Hisar in Haryana, where the minimum temperature settled at 6.4 degrees Celsius, 6 degrees Celsius and 7.2 degrees Celsius respectively.


However, Ambala recorded a low of 10 degrees Celsius, which was two notches more than normal.
