New Delhi: Amid intense speculations over Navjot Singh Sidhu's next move, top sources on Wednesday claimed that the cricketer-turned-politician will campaign for the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) as its star campaigner but won't be the party's chief ministerial candidate in Punjab.

Navjot Singh Sidhu unlikely to be projected as AAP's Punjab CM candidate, will campaign for party: AAP Sources to ANI

As per sources, Sidhu, who resigned from Rajya Sabha on Monday, is unlikely to be projected as Aam Aadmi Party’s chief minister candidate in Punjab.
His resignation has triggered speculation that he could join Aam Aadmi Party and be its face in the Assembly polls next year.
But sources, however, said that Sidhu will campaign for the party.
The cricketer-turned-politician has been mum on his next move but there were indications that he was miffed with the state of affairs in BJP.
Sidhu, who was thrice the Lok Sabha member from the BJP, was asked to step away from contesting the polls in Amritsar during the 2014 General Election to make way for fellow member Arun Jaitley.
Both Sidhu and his wife share an uneasy relationship with the Akali leadership and have made open attacks on Akali Dal and its leadership on governance issues.
