Amritsar: Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal on Saturday submitted an emotional letter, expressing his deep pain over the current events, to Akal Takht Jathedar Gyani Gurbachan Singh.
He submitted the letter after paying obeisance at Golden Temple here.
In the letter, Badal said, "in the last few days, bad incidents occurred in Punjab... Are highly painful which hurt sentiments deeply and emotions of Punjabi brotherhood caused deep pain in hearts. Unexpected happenings in Punjab taking worst turns which may further worsen the situation in the state".
"Being the administrative Head of the State, I understand and realize the present situation. For the past long time, I have been putting my best efforts to serve my duty whole heartedly with honest attention and full physically strength. I led my whole life with patience and according to religious customs," he said.
"Sometime while serving duty with sincerity, some things happen unexpectedly which is beyond expectation as a reason one has to undergo severe mental agony which shakes human being deeply form inside which also shakes the soul internally. When all such happens, one strongly feels to go for repentance. Presently I am experiencing deep pain from inside," the chief minister said.
The SAD-BJP government has been facing ire from several quarters over the alleged incidents of desecration of holy book.
Punjab continued to "boil" after the alleged incidents of sacrilege with Sikh activists holding protest at various places in the state, demanding action against those who indulged in this "heinous act".
