New York: While you are busy bursting candies on Candy Crush game on your smartphones, Oral-B has introduced a new "smart" toothbrush which works in tandem with a special app "Candy Brush" to help you correctly brush your teeth.
The special app record metrics such as interdental cleaning, pressure applied, brushing duration, and tongue cleanliness, NBCnews.com reported.
Oral-B unveiled the high-tech toothbrush called "Genius" at the ongoing Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, Spain, this week.
"The Genius' unique system involves location tracking and acceleration sensors that will "take digital guidance to the next level by bringing awareness to what's actually happening each time users brush, and giving them real-time guidance to improve every brushing session," Dr Jose Nart from parent company Procter & Gamble was quoted as saying.
To use Genius, brushers must attach their smartphone to the mirror using a special suction cup.
Now position yourself in front of the camera and brush according to the zones displayed in the app.
"In addition to having essentially made teeth brushing into a video game - let's call it 'candy brush' - Oral-B is also investigating third-party options such as partnering with banks to offer financial rewards as an incentive to get younger kids - and perhaps some adults - to perfectly polish their pearly whites," the report added.
The Oral-B Genius will be available in Europe in July and the US in September reportedly for $250.
