Islamabad: A drone belonging to Pakistan Air Force on Sunday crashed while landing at an airbase in eastern province of Punjab. The locally-built drone was on a routine training mission when it developed a technical fault and crashed during landing, a PAF spokesman told media. Air commodore Tariq Mahmood said the drone suffered only minor damage in the crash and no one was injured in the accident. Pakistan uses small spy drones to carry out reconnaissance of the militants in country`s restive North Waziristan. However, Pakistan`s indigenously built drones are no match to the much advanced US drones which are also used to bust militant hideouts in Pakistan`s Taliban dominated areas. On Wednesday, seven suspected militants were killed and three others injured in a US drone strike in country`s tribal region of North Waziristan.
