Kathmandu: Three mild tremors were recorded in central Nepal in less than 12 hours.

An aftershock of local magnitude 4.1 was recorded at 12:42 am today, with its epicentre near Baramchi in Sindhupalchowk district - 120 kms east of Kathmandu, according to the National Seismological Centre (NSC).


Earlier, two mild aftershocks jolted central Nepal yesterday.


A 4.4-magnitude tremor with Gorkha epicentre was recorded at 6:09 pm and another 4-magnitude tremor with Nuwakot epicentre was recorded at 5 pm.


So far, the number of aftershocks with magnitude 4.0 or above on the Richter scale has reached 414 after the devastating April 25 earthquake that claimed nearly 9,000 lives.
