Chennai: The ruling AIADMK government will on Tuesday present Tamil Nadu's interim budget for 2016-17 in the poll-bound state.
Finance Minister O Panneerselvam is slated to make his budget speech after which the Business Advisory Committee will decide on the duration of the session, where the budget will be discussed and debated.
Since polls are due in Tamil Nadu in the coming months, the interim budget will be tabled on Tuesday even as a the newly-elected government will present a full budget after elections.
Opposition parties are likely to corner the government over a series of issues, including corruption and its liquor policy, with the latter becoming their common rallying point.
