Amma wave drowns 'Captain' Vijaykanth in Tamil Nadu

Chennai: All the hype over the 'third front' went bust Thursday with the DMDK-led alliance putting up a pathetic show in the Tamil Nadu assembly elections.

DMDK chief Vijaykanth was himself trailing from Ulundurpet constituency. In the 2011 elections, Vijayakanth was elected from Rishvandhiyam constituency.

The DMDK is contesting in 104 seats.

Only one candidate of DMDK – Kavervarman in Palacodu – is leading at the moment.

Over all, J Jayalalithaa appears set for a landslide with leads in 135 of 234 seats. The DMK is a poor second with leads in only 79 seats.
