Chennai: Disaster struck an amusement park near Chennai called Kishkinta when workers were trying out a ride called the Disco Dancer.
20 workers were on a break and trying out the ride when the coaches of the giant wheel came crashing down from a height of nearly 15 feet, as per media reports.
One person is said to have died and seven others injured.
The giant wheel is like a mega tea cup that tilts from one side to the other.
The Disco Dancer was supposedly among the top draws at the park.
The floods last year had left it damaged.
As per reports, last evening's ride was meant to be a trial run.
Then it would have been opened to the public.
Meanwhile, Josh Punnish, owner of the amusement park and manager Shathivelan have been arrested under section 337 and 304(2).
