J Jayalalithaa died in Chennai on Monday night.

Chennai: J Jayalalithaa died here on Monday night after suffering a massive cardiac arrest a day before. 

"It is with indescribable grief, we announce the sad demise of our esteemed Honourable Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Puratchi Thalaivi Amma at 11.30 pm today," Apollo Hospitals said in a statement.

Following the news of her death, people took to Twitter to pay their tributes.
