Chennai: Shortly after meeting with DMDK's Vijayakanth in the poll bound state, Minister of State for Environment and Forests Prakash Javadekar said on Sunday that Tamil Nadu deserves a better administration, adding that Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government is helping the state in every way.
“We are happy that in the last 24 hours, we have practically discussed with many of our alliance. Met IJK,IPP,NJP, AIMMK & others yesterday. Remaining outfits whose leaders were not here will meet again this week and complete the process,” Javadekar told reporters here.
Indicating towards the successful leadership of Prime Minister, the Union Minister said, “Tamil Nadu deserves a good administration like Narendra Modi ji is giving in Centre.”
He further said, "I will brief what has been discussed here to our party president and PM," ANI reported.
The meet comes in the backdrop of DMK and the Congress announced earlier this month that they would ally for the forthcoming Assembly elections in the state.
In 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Congress and DMK fought separately and the former drew blank in all the 39 seats in Tamil Nadu.
According to a survey carried out by the regional television channel Puthiya Thalaimurai, the ruling All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) and opposition Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) are expected to be involved in a neck-to-neck race for power.
According to the PTTV survey, incumbent Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa has less than a % lead over her DMK opponent M Karunanidhi.
