Secunderabad: In a major revelation, it has been exposed that the fire near the Alpha hotel in Secunderabad on Tuesday was a case of arson and it was done by two youngsters, one of whom is a son of an Additional Commissioner of Police.
It was also revealed that the two youngsters did it under the influence of alcohol.
The CCTV footage nailed the culprits and helped the police to solve the suspicious fire accident case.
The fire broke out in two cloth shops near Secunderabad railway station, opposite Alpha hotel, around 4 am on Tuesday.
The fire tenders were called and it took over an hour to douse the flames.
However by then, the two shops were completely gutted. Another fire accident was reported in a shop a few yards away, but closer to the Market police station.
Two days ahead of Hanuman Jayanti, the accident made police suspicious and they started analyzing the CCTV footages of the area.
In the CCTV footage, the police found that the two youngsters were seen moving in the locality minutes before the fire accident and torching the two cloth shops.
One of the youth detained, is an assistant commandant-rank police officer`s son working in a reserve battalion in Hyderabad.
They reportedly admitted to have indulged in the arson under the influence of alcohol.
The police are further completing the legal process in this regard.
