Gorakhpur: Ahead of Assembly Elections in Uttar Pradesh, poster war continues in the state.

On the occasion of Yogi Adityanath's 44th birthday, the Bharatiya Janata Party minority wing on Sunday released a poster depicting the party MP from Gorakhpur as Lord Rama.

In the poster, Ravana is shown with seven, not 10, heads, and named as the Bahujan Samaj Party, Congress, Aam Aadmi Party, All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen, Janata Dal (United), Peace Party, and Samajwadi Party.

In April, posters were surfaced in Varanasi depicting BJP`s new state chief Keshav Maurya as Lord Krishna.

In the poster, state Uttar Pradesh was symbolised by Draupadi and opposition leaders as Kauravas.

BJP's Uttar Pradesh president Keshav Prasad Maurya was later depicted as 'Arjun' in a new poster in Allahabad.

Posters and hoardings of former Uttar Pradesh chief minister Mayawati in the form of Hindu goddess Kali and holding the chopped off head of union Human Resource Development Minister Smriti Irani had surfaced in Hathras.

In the posters released by Congress workers in Gorakhpur in May, Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi was seen donning police uniform.

Uttar Pradesh will go to polls in 2017.
