Lucknow: Bahujan Samaj Party leaders, who had made foul, objectionable and obscene remarks against expelled BJP leader Dayashankar Singh's minor daughter, have been identified.
News agency IANS quoted a senior police official as saying on Wednesday.
At least three BSP leaders have been identified through a video, the police official said.
Among those who now face prosecution for making obscene remarks are State BSP chief Ram Achal Rajbhar, Atar Singh Rao, Naushad Ali and 22 second rung leaders from Mayawati's party.
They will be pressed with provisions of POSCO, the official said.
The wife of expelled BJP leader, Swati Singh, had earlier complained that a group of BSP leaders have made objectionable comments against her daughter, who is now very depressed.
In an FIR, Singh's family had demanded that the BSP leaders be arrested for their disparaging comments and booked under POSCO.
"A threadbare examination of the video has revealed that three leaders - Ram Ache Rajbhar, Atar Singh Rao and Naushad Ali - made indecent remarks against the minor girl. They shall be framed under POCSO Act now," the official said.
A war of words broke out between the BSP and the Bharatiya Janata Party after Singh likened BSP chief Mayawati to a sex worker and alleged that she went for the highest bidder in giving tickets.
Dayashankar Singh, who was slapped with many charges and expelled from the party, is in in judicial custody now.
